At the tail end of last year, Pebble added health-focused features to its smartwatches, including step counting and sleep tracking. Apparently those features have been well-received with users, because Pebble says that it’s celebrating their success with some hardware discounts.
Pebble has cut the prices of its Pebble Time and Pebble Time Round smartwatches by $50 each. That means that the Pebble Time is now $149.99, while the Pebble Time Round is $199.99.
Pebble is also making tweaks to its pricing for the UK and EU, bringing them more in line with US pricing and including VAT and importation fees. Pricing for the Pebble Time is set at £149.99/€169.95, while the Pebble Time Round is £179.99/€229.95. Pebble says that it’s speeding up European deliveries of its watches with a dedicated distribution center and partnering with retailers around the globe to expand in-store sales.
Pebble is a bit different from Android Wear and the Apple Watch, boasting a unique Timeline UI and e-paper screens. And while they don’t run Google or Apple’s official smartwatch software, Pebble watches typically have longer battery life than Android Wear and Apple Watch hardware, and they’re usually a bit cheaper, too. Now the Pebble Time and Pebble Time Round are even more affordable, so if you’ve been thinking about strapping a Pebble to your wrist, now would probably be a good time to do it.
