Have a Moto G (2nd Gen.) nearby? If so, grab it and check for an update, because you may have a Marshmallow treat waiting.
Several Reddit users are reporting that the Moto G (2nd Gen.) is receiving its Android 6.0 update in the US. The update bumps the phone to software version 24.41.34 and includes the Marshmallow goodies that you’d expect, like Google Now on Tap, Doze battery optimizations, and improved app permissions. Motorola’s full changelog can be found here.
The second generation Moto G was included in Motorola's Android 6.0 update announcement, so it’s good to see Motorola following through and treating this Moto G to Marshmallow. If you’re rocking a Moto G (2nd Gen.) and haven’t yet gotten your Android 6.0 update notification, head into Settings > About phone > System updates to check for your Marshmallow treat manually.
Once you get the update, be sure to let us know how it’s working for you!
