We’ve already seen the Galaxy S7 a couple of times in the form of leaked renders, but today the first real photo of Samsung’s next flagship may have surfaced.
A photo that claims to show the back of the Galaxy S7 has leaked, depicting a Samsung-branded phone that looks a lot like the Galaxy S6. Perhaps the most notable difference with this device, though, is that its rear camera is darn near flush with its backside, which lines up with previous rumors about the GS7. The edges of the phone’s backside appear to be curved, too.
The source of this leak also says that the GS7 says that the frame of the device is made of magnesium metal. The device is said to be waterproof, as well.
As with any leak, nothing is official until it’s made official. That said, the device in this leaked photo does line up with previous reports regarding the Galaxy S7, including leaked renders. Some folks might be disappointed if the GS7 ends up looking a lot like the GS6, but if these leaks are true, Samsung is taking the GS6 design that a lot of people liked and refining it to make it better. We’ll have to wait until we get our hands on the GS7 to see if it actually is refined and improved, but the tweaks that are rumored to be included do sound like they’ll make for a better Galaxy.
Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy S7 on February 21.
