Typically if you want to add insurance to your smartphone, you have to do so when you buy it or shortly thereafter. However, if you’re a Verizon customer, you can now add insurance even if you bought your phone months ago.
From January 11 through March 10, Verizon is hosting open enrollment for its insurance offerings. That means that even if you bought your phone a while ago, you can protect it with an insurance plan. Verizon has four different insurance offerings:
Some folks may decide to decline insurance when they first buy their phone because they’re thinking about how much they’re going to have to pay for the device itself. Or they may just think that they don’t need it. Usually those people would be out of luck if they change their mind, but Verizon is giving its customers a second chance with this two-month open enrollment. So if you’ve been thinking about how you’d like to add insurance to your expensive Verizon device, now’s your chance.
