After some reports spilled early details on the new Google Glass Enterprise Edition earlier this year, images of the unannounced hardware have finally made their way online.
The FCC has approved Google’s new Glass hardware, and in the process, the agency has published several images that show off Google’s new wearable device. Perhaps the most notable change from the Google Glass Explorer Edition to this new Enterprise Edition is a foldable hinge. This will help Glass to withstand bumps in the working environment.
In addition to this hinge, the new Google Glass Enterprise Edition has a longer prism up front, and its power button has been relocated as well. Other rumored changes include an Intel processor, better wireless connectivity, and better battery life which you can supplement with an external battery pack. The whole unit is said to be waterproof to protect its internals.
While there may not be any huge changes to this new Google Glass Enterprise Edition, it sounds like a nice upgrade over the Explorer Edition that was previously sold to the public. The bad news is that the Enterprise Edition likely won’t be made available to us regular folk. While the original Google Glass didn’t seem to catch on with the general public, I’m sure that there are some folks that are disappointed that they won’t be able to upgrade to a new and improved Glass.
