At the start of November, the HTC One X9 was outed in a flurry of leaks that appeared in the span of just a few days. The One X9 has been absent in the month since, but today it’s finally shown itself again.
This latest leak shows the white HTC One X9 in the metal and includes some close-ups of the X9’s most notable physical features. There’s one of the BoomSound front-facing speakers, which look a bit different than the speaker grilles found on the One M9, and an elongated oval that houses the rear camera. Other features of the One X9 include a microUSB — not USB Type-C — port on the bottom of the phone and a set of capacitive navigation keys on its face.
As a refresher, the One X9’s rumored spec list includes a 5.5-inch 1920x1080 display, 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, 16GB of storage, and a microSD card slot for added more storage. It’s allegedly powered by a combination of a 2.2GHz octa-core processor and 2GB of RAM.
The One X9 is a bit larger than the One A9, which has a 5-inch display, but many of the other specs of the two phones are similar. That suggests that the One X9 could be positioned as an affordable phablet option when it arrives in HTC’s lineup, which is expected to happen in Q1 2016. For folks looking for a new flagship tier device from HTC, you’ll want to keep your eyes peeled for the HTC Perfume, which is expected to be coming with Android 6.1 in tow.
