Google Now on Tap recently gained a new feature that makes it super simple to share screenshots, but no matter how cool some of us think that is, the thing that that’s probably not a feature that most folks are going to use regularly. Today Google Now on Tap is gaining another new feature, and this one may appeal to a broader range of folks.
Google is updating Now on Tap to show flight and package tracking info. For example, if you find a flight that you want to track, simply hold down the Home button to bring up Now on Tap and Google will show you info on the status of the flight. You can also tap and hold on package confirmation emails to get tracking info for your package. Google Now on Tap is also gaining the ability to show related news about a subject that you’re reading about.
Flight and package tracking were two big features of the pre-Android 6.0 Google Now, so it’s nice to see them being added to Google Now on Tap. The timing of the update is good, too, as lots of folks probably know someone who’s flying for the holidays or has ordered a gift or two that they’d like to track.
Google says that flight and package tracking info should start appearing over the coming days. El Goog also says that Google Now on Tap is gaining support for French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, and Korean.
