Huawei has been around the mobile game for a while, but the company is gaining new levels of exposure thanks to recent devices like the Nexus 6P. And soon folks in the US will get even more exposure to Huawei through its sub-brand, Honor.
Honor president George Zhao has revealed that Honor smartphones are coming to the US. Details on which phones will reach US shores are still up in the air, as is the info on when these handsets will hit US shelves. However, Honor is holding an event at CES in January, so it’s very possible that we’ll learn more then.
The Honor 7 is the latest flagship from Huawei’s sub-brand. It features a 5.2-inch 1920x1080 screen, octa-core Kirin 935 proctors, 20-megapixel rear and 8-megapixel front cameras, 3GB of RAM, and a 3100mAh battery, all crammed into a metal body. At around $369, the Honor 7 is meant to compete in the “affordable flagship” category of smartphones, which is one that’s exploded with quality choices lately. We’ll have to wait and see exactly what Honor plans to bring to the US, but if it’s anything like the Honor 7, then customers shopping in the affordable flagship category will get another solid option.
