Google’s Chromecast devices have gotten a lot of praise for being cheap, easy ways to beam content from your phone to your TV. A new Chromecast was released earlier this year, and if you haven’t yet picked it up, Google has a new offer to tempt you to finally pull the trigger.
Google will give you a $20 Google Play credit if you purchase and set up a new Chromecast by January 2. The new Chromecast is currently selling for $35 in the Google Store, meaning that it’ll actually end up costing you around $15 after you get your Google Play credit. The $20 credit can be applied for TV shows and movies, but you can also use it on any other goodies in Google Play, like apps and games.
Twenty dollars can get you quite a bit of content from Google Play, and if you consider the final cost of the Chromecast to be $15 after you get your credit, then the device is nearly an impulse buy. And hey, if you’ve already got one Chromecast, perhaps you know of another TV with a lonely HDMI port that could be filled with a Chromecast.
