The LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE is a big device for Android Wear, being the first to launch with built-in cellular connectivity and with Android 6.0 Marshmallow in tow. However, it looks like most of us won’t get the chance to strap one on, at least not for a while.
LG has decided to cancel the launch of the Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE. In a statement sent to Android Police, the company explains that it discovered an unspecified hardware issue that it says “affects the day-to-day functionality of the device.” LG goes on to describe the issue as “complicated,” and as a result, it’s decided to cancel the watch’s rollout.
It’s possible that the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE won’t ever launch at all. LG says that it’ll decide the watch’s fate at a later time.
Whatever this hardware issue is, it must be a biggie to cause LG to consider canceling the Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE altogether. It’s not cheap to develop and create a smartwatch, and so it’s crazy to see that LG may end up shelving the new Watch Urbane over a hardware issue. And now the question on most everyone’s mind will be “What issue could be so big that it’s caused LG to cancel the Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE’s launch?” The answer is a mystery for now.
