Verizon and Motorola confirmed yesterday that they’ll debut new DROIDs on October 27. Now, one day later, Motorola appears to have confirmed at least one of its new phones.
Motorola today uploaded its Moto Email app to Google Play. The app looks like a plain ol’ email app, offering search, the ability to attach photos from the Camera app when composing an email, notifications for failed attachment downloads, and more. What’s notable is that in one of the screenshots for the app, it shows an email signed “Sent from my DROID MAXX 2.”
That’s not the only place that Motorola has confirmed the Maxx 2, though. A support site for the DROID Maxx 2 has been discovered on Motorola’s website, showing you how to use the phone and its various features. There’s nothing very crazy to be found on the page, but there are mentions of dual SIM and microSD support as well as NFC.
The DROID Maxx 2 is rumored to be the US version of the Moto X Play, which does offer NFC and a microSD slot, as well as dual SIM support in some markets. However, we’ll have to wait until Motorola and Verizon actually announce the DROID Maxx 2 later this month before we get confirmation of its spec list.
