The Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X officially went up for pre-order late last month, but most folks are still waiting for their phones to be shipped to them. To help pass the time, a couple of unboxing videos have been posted by a lucky person that has managed to get hold of both of Google’s new Nexus smartphones.
There are now unboxing videos for both the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X on the YouTube channel Intellect Digest. The Nexus 6P that’s being unboxed is the 32GB gray version. Upon peeling away the sticker that’s sealing the box and then lifting the top portion off, you’re greeted by a leaflet that gives an overview of all of the buttons on the Nexus 6P, its charging port, and its SIM tray. Included in the box are all of the goodies that we expect to see, including the wall charger, USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable, a USB Type-C to USB Type-A cable, and of course, the Nexus 6P itself.
After handling the Nexus 6P, the unboxer says that performance is smooth and that the hardware feels good. The chamfered edges are described as being “nicely finished,” and compared to last year’s Nexus 6, the Nexus 6P is both smaller and more compact.
Moving on to the Nexus 5X, the packaging includes a leaflet similar to the one found in the Nexus 6P’s box. There’s also the 16GB black Nexus 5X in the box as well as the wall charger and a USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable. As expected, there’s no USB Type-C to USB Type-A cable included with the 5X like there is with the 6P.
The unboxer describes the Nexus 5X as being compact and a camera that can capture quality photos in low-light.
Intellect Digest has also uploaded a video that compares the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X, post-unboxing. You can check it out right here.
Overall there’s nothing terribly shocking revealed in these Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X unboxing videos. That said, it is fun to see the two new Nexus phones being pulled from their cardboard containers, especially since most everyone that pre-ordered one is still waiting for their phones to hit their doorsteps. And again, the Nexus 5X doesn’t include a USB Type-C to Type-A cable, so you’ll need to pick one of those up if you plan on plugging your 5X into a computer or just about any other charger.
Did you pre-order a Nexus 6P or Nexus 5X? If so, what’d you get?
