Google officially unveiled the Nexus 6P at its big event today, and while Google ended up confirming most of the previous Nexus 6P leaks, there was one thing missing from El Goog’s announcement: a gold Nexus 6P. Now that device has quietly appeared.
The Japanese version of the Google Store includes a Nexus 6P Special Edition, which appears to be a standard Nexus 6P, just with gold duds. Unfortunately, it’s not clear how much the Nexus 6P costs or when it’ll be available, because right now Google is only taking sign-ups for folks that want to learn more about it.
Before the Nexus 6P was announced, some reports suggested that the gold version would only be available in Japan, at least initially. That appears like it is the case, which is kind of a bummer for folks like me that are all about golden gadgets. It’s unclear when or if this Nexus 6P Special Edition will ever make its way outside of Japan, but some previously-leaked Google docs said that that version would be “only in Japan, for now,” so there’s a chance that this golden Nexus will eventually make its way to other lands. Come on, Google! Those of us outside of Japan love gold, too!
Would you buy this Nexus 6P Special Edition if it were sold in your country?
