A new Gmail for Android update is now rolling out, and it’s got a couple of new features to help you stay in control of what shows up in your inbox.
With this new version of Gmail, you can easily block specific email addresses so that you’ll never see a message from them in your inbox ever again. To do so you can tap the three-dot overflow button in the message itself and hit “Block ‘____’”. This feature is rolling out to Gmail on the web today and “over the next week” on Android.
Another feature being added to Gmail is the ability to quickly and easily unsubscribe from newsletters. To unsubscribe from an eligible mailing list, hit the three-dot overflow button near the top of the screen, hit “Unsubscribe,” and BAM! Your inbox will be clearer in the future.
Unsubscribing from newsletters can be a pain because you often have to click a link to a website, select which newsletters you want to be removed from, and sometimes explain why you’re unsubscribing. This new Unsubscribe button simplifies the experience by letting you tap a button and leaving the rest to Google. This Gmail for Android update is now rolling out, so hit up the Google Play app on your device and check for it.
