Yesterday T-Mobile revealed new updates for the Nexus 4, 5, 6, 7 (2013), and 9 that includes security updates and bug fixes. Now Google has posted the factory images for your flashing convenience.
Google is now offering factory images of the new LMY48M update for the Nexus 4, 5, 6, 7 (2013), 9 and 10. With these images, you can immediately flash the latest update to your Nexus device, so long as you’re cool with totally wiping your phone or tablet and starting fresh.
It’s worth noting that if you’ve got a Nexus 6 on T-Mobile or Project Fi, the LMY48M build doesn’t apply to you. It doesn’t look like Google has posted the newest factory images for the T-Mo and Fi Nexus 6 models, though: Google’s page shows the newest T-Mo Nexus 6 build as LYZ28J, while T-Mobile says that the newest build is LYZ28K.
If your Nexus device isn’t a T-Mo or Project Fi Nexus 6, you can go ahead and flash these factory images to your device using the instructions on Google’s page. Once again, keep in mind that flashing a factory image will wipe your phone back to stock. If you’d rather not lose your data like that, you can wait for the over the air update to roll out to your phone. Those updates should start arriving in the coming days.
