We’ve seen a lot of Samsung devices get updates to patch the Stagefright exploit in the past week or two, and today three more devices are getting that patch along with a few extra treats.
Verizon is now pushing updates to its Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, and Galaxy Tab 4 10.1. Not only do the updates include Android 5.1.1, but Verizon also says that the GS6 edge and Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 updates include “Android security patches,” likely for the Stagefright exploit.
The updates also include goodies like the option to turn off the parallax wallpaper effect on the GS6 and GS6 edge, a material design refresh for the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, and several other improvements.
It’s always good to see more devices to updated to the latest version of Android, and Samsung and Verizon are throwing some Stagefright exploits in for good measure. These updates are rolling out over the air, so if you’ve got a Verizon-branded GS6, GS6 edge, or Tab 4 10.1, keep an eye out for your update over the coming days.
