We’ve seen a lot of Stagefright patches rolling out to Android devices lately, including carrier-branded models and unlocked phones. Now it’s the OnePlus One’s turn to get a Stagefright patch.
OnePlus today posted OxygenOS 1.0.2, an update to its custom Android UI that includes patches for the Stagefright exploit. The update can be grabbed from OnePlus’s forums, and installing it doesn’t require you to reset your device.
Stagefright is a vulnerability that could allow your device to be exploited if a malicious MMS message is sent to it. While we haven’t yet heard of anyone taking advantage of the exploit, it’s still a serious issue, and it’s good to see OnePlus issuing a patch for its OxygenOS users. If you’ve got a OnePlus One that’s running OxygenOS, hit up the link below to download the latest update.
