UPDATE: Motorola has since deleted its launch date Tweet. Whether that's because it was just announced early or was incorrect remains to be seen, but for now Sept. 3 is the most likely launch date for for Moto X Style / Pure Edition.
When Motorola introduced its three new Moto phones last month, it said that its flagship Moto X Style/Pure Edition would launch sometime in September. Now we’ve got a concrete date to circle on our calendars.
Motorola says that the Moto X Pure Edition will launch on September 3. Pricing will start at $399.99 without a commitment, and Motorola has said that the new Moto X will work across all US carriers. As with past Moto X models, the Moto X Pure Edition will be available with Moto Maker, meaning that you’ll be able to customize your X with a variety of colors and materials, including wood and leather.

The Moto X Pure Edition has a 5.7-inch 2560x1440 display, 1.8GHz hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor, 21-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel wide angle front-facing cameras, 16/32/64GB of storage, a microSD slot, 3GB of RAM, and a 3000mAh battery. For the price, the Moto X Pure Edition could be a compelling option for folks in the market for a new smartphone, especially if Motorola’s claims about the device’s camera performance pan out.
