The OnePlus 2 is officially slated to launch tomorrow, August 11, but it looks like North American buyers will have to wait a bit longer for their phones than their European counterparts.
OnePlus says that the first OnePlus 2 shipments to the US and Canada have been delayed by two to three weeks. The phone will still go on sale on August 11, but the first shipments won’t go out for two to three weeks after European shipments begin.
As for the cause for the delay, OnePlus only says that “production schedules” are to blame.
It’s pretty disappointing that North American OnePlus 2 buyers won’t be getting their phones until weeks after European buyers. At least North American residents will still be able to buy a phone starting tomorrow, though, guaranteeing that they’ll at least get a OnePlus 2 at some point. Here’s to hoping that the delay is closer to two weeks than three.
The good news is that our own Marco Hanna has gotten his OnePlus 2 review unit, so keep it locked to PhoneDog for more OnePlus 2 content while we wait for North American units to ship.
