When the HTC One M9 launched earlier this year, it brought with it Sense 7, the latest version of HTC’s custom Android user interface. So far the One M9 is the only device to have Sense 7, and it looks like it’ll stay that way for a while.
In response to a question on Twitter, HTC’s Mo Versi has revealed that the HTC One M8 will get Sense 7 as part of its update to Android M. It’s not clear when that update will begin rolling out, but Google has said that it plans to launch Android M in Q3 2015, so the One M8 won’t get its M update until after that.
@harshitsharma04 Will be tied to the M release. Thanks.

I’m sure that many One M8 owners are disappointed by this news. While Sense 7 isn’t a huge refresh over Sense 6, it does offer some new features. Those include a new Home Widget that’ll suggest apps based on your location, the ability to tweak your phone’s software navigation buttons, and the HTC Themes customization app. Now One M8 owners will have to wait likely a couple of months before they get to try those features themselves. At least we know about the wait, meaning One M8 users won’t have to wonder when their helping of Sense 7 is coming.
