Lava Pixel V1 is a new Android One phone with slim bezels, 5.5-inch display

Nearly one year after the first Android One smartphones debuted in India, details on a new Android One handset have leaked.

Indian retailer MySmartPrice has revealed the Lava Pixel V1, an Android 5.1.1 device that’s expected to cost ₹11,349 ($177 USD). Once you pony up that dough, you’ll get a phone with a 5.5-inch 1280x720 display covered in Asahi DragonTrail glass (similar to Gorilla Glass), a Qualcomm-made 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded upon with a microSD card, a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, a 5-megapixel front camera that uses interpolation to product 8-megapixel images, and a 2650mAh battery.

In terms of wireless connectivity, the Pixel V1 offers 3G HSPA+ with dual SIM slots. Also included is 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, GLONASS, and Wi-Fi Direct.

The Lava Pixel V1 is definitely one of the best-looking Android One phones that we’ve seen to date. The first models were somewhat plain black slabs, and while things have gotten a bit better lately, the Pixel V1’s thin bezels and white-and-silver backside definitely make it more attractive that its predecessors.

An official announcement of the Lava Pixel V1 is expected to come on July 29.
