Imagine being able to charge your phone while you’re out and when there’s no power source nearby. Yes, there’s the option of using a power bank to charge your device—and then there’s Solar Paper; a thin and lightweight charger you can carry around easily. What’s best about this accessory is that it is a solar charger that can charge an iPhone 6 device in just 2.5 hours.
Solar Paper initially started as a Kickstarter project by a developer company called Yolk. Having started the Kickstarter campaign to help fund their project last year, Yolk has long since attracted the attention of a number of individuals to help make this paper-thin solar charger a reality. Proclaiming it to be the world’s smallest solar charger, the accessory is paper-thin and manages to do its job in just 2 hours under direct sunlight. If it’s not too bright outdoors, extra panels can easily be attached through the use of magnets. In addition to this, the Solar Paper is water-resistant.
With only 30 days left until the crowdfunding project comes to an end, Yolk has already reached a pledge of $516,413—a number which is noticeably higher than their targeted goal of just $50,000. There’s still time to invest on the project and be part of the success of Yolk in making these paper-thin solar chargers a reality. The expected date of delivery is sometime in October or November of this year.
