Just a few months after introducing its new P8 flagship, the folks at Huawei have taken the wraps off of another high-end Android phone.
The Huawei Honor 7 has been revealed in China with a 5.2-inch 1920x1080 display and an 8-megapixel wide angle camera on its face. Around on the back of the Honor 7’s metal-clad body is a 20-megapixel camera with a Sony IMX230 with sapphire glass, a 6-lens module, an f/2.0 aperture, and Phase Detection Auto Focus. So yeah, Huawei’s placed a lot of focus on the Honor 7’s rear shooter.
Packed inside of the Honor 7’s body is an octa-core Kirin 935 processor, 3GB of RAM, 16GB or 64GB of storage, a microSD slot, and a 3100mAh battery. The Honor 7 also continues the trend of high-end Android phones offering a fingerprint sensor by letting you unlock your phone by placing your finger on the small square pad on the phone’s rear.
On the software side, the Honor 7 comes with Android 5.0 running beneath EMUI 3.1, Huawei’s custom user interface. This custom UI includes tweaks like a one-handed mode, the ability to hide apps, a personal health center, and more.
The Huawei Honor 7 will launch in China on July 7 at a price of $322 for the 16GB model, $355 for the dual SIM LTE handset, or $400 for the capacious 64GB version. While some may have preferred a 2560x1440 display on the Honor 7, this new Huawei phone looks pretty nice overall, packing high-end specs like a beefy camera and 3GB of RAM into an all-metal body. It seems unlikely that we’ll ever see the Honor 7 in the US, but if you’re located in China, you’ll be able to get your mitts on this device very soon.
