Yesterday T-Mobile announced a free memory upgrade promo for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge that’ll let you get a 64GB GS6 for the price of a 32GB model. Now Samsung’s got a similar deal for everyone else.
Samsung’s “Ultimate Upgrade” offer will let you get a 64GB Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 edge for the price of the 32GB model. After submitting your claim for the offer, Samsung will reward you with a $100 mail-in rebate check. In order to qualify, you’ll need to buy your phone before July 5.
The way the deal works is that you buy your 64GB GS6 or GS6 edge and then submit a claim form on Samsung’s Ultimate Upgrade page. To submit your claim, you’ll need the IMEI or HEX MEID of your phone, the Wi-Fi MAC address of the phone, and you’ll need to send your receipt through the mail or online.
As I said yesterday, both the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge ditched the microSD slot that was present in past Galaxy S smartphones. That means that for local storage, you’re stuck with whatever your phone comes with, and so you’re probably going to want as much as you can get. While 32GB isn’t a terribly small amount of storage to have on a phone, 64GB is twice as good, and now anyone in the market for a GS6 or GS6 edge can now get themselves a more capacious 64GB model rather than a 32GB handset.
