After confirming plans to launch the Microsoft Lumia 640 XL back in March, AT&T today revealed exactly when it will begin selling the Windows Phone phablet.
The Lumia 640 XL will hit AT&T stores, both physical and online, on June 26. Pricing will be set at $0 down and 30 payments of $8.34 on AT&T Next 24, 24 payments of $10.42 on AT&T Next 18, or 20 payments of $12.50 with AT&T Next 12.
As its name suggests, the Lumia 640 XL is the super-sized version of the Lumia 640. The XL offers a 5.7-inch 1280x720 display, up from the 5-inch screen of the 640, as well as beefier 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras. Also included with the 640 XL is a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, a microSD slot, a 3000mAh battery, and Windows Phone 8.1.
Our own Cam Bunton spent some time with the Lumia 640 XL earlier this year and found it to have “a great camera, great battery, solid build quality,” and more. And while it’s not the new Windows Phone flagship that some are waiting for, it’s a solid and affordable device for anyone else with an interest in Microsoft’s Live Tile-powered platform.
