Apple has been offering a Free App of the Week for a few years now, discounting a paid app down to the price of $0 for a week a time. Now it looks like Google has launched its own version of Android users.
A new “Free App of the Week” has appeared in the recently-launched Family section of Google Play. Clicking the link will prompt you to download Daniel Tiger Grr-ific Feelings, a PBS Kids app that normally costs $2.99.
Google hasn’t made any official announcements regarding this Free App of the Week promo, so it’s unclear if it’ll only ever offer Family apps for free or if we’ll see other apps added to the promo as well. Here’s to hoping it’s the latter, because Apple’s Free App of the Week has given users some awesome apps that they normally might not have gotten, and it’d be great to see Google do something similar.
