LG G3 users on T-Mobile, it’s time for you to update to Android 5.0. Again.
T-Mobile is now pushing Android 5.0.1 to its version of the LG G3. That’s according to Des Smith, T-Mo’s product evangelist, who says that the update began going out today at 12:01 am PT. The update will bump the G3 to Android 5.0.1 and is build D85120e.
This is the second time that T-Mobile has pushed Lollipop to its LG G3. The first update came in March, but T-Mo ended up pausing that rollout for unknown reasons. That update was also Android 5.0.1, but its build was D85120b, so if you managed to get that old update before it was halted, you’re still going to need to update to this newer D85120e build.
T-Mobile hasn’t posted release notes for this newer Android 5.0.1 build, but since the old one was paused, it’s likely that the newer build contains a similar batch of goodies. The changelog for the old update included Lollipop, Voice over LTE, and Wi-Fi Calling 2.0. If you’ve got a T-Mobile LG G3, you can check for this update by going into Settings > General > About phone > Update Centers > System updates > Check now.
