It’s Update Wednesday for Android fans, and Google has announced that it’s celebrating by pushing a new version of its Gmail app.
The new Gmail app includes Oauth support for Yahoo and Microsoft accounts, giving you added protection using things like two-step verification and account recovery. Also included in this Gmail update are some unspecified bug fixes and performance improvements.
While a lot of Android users probably have Gmail accounts, there are probably quite a few people that also have email accounts from Yahoo, Outlook, or some other provider. It’s good to see Google showing those folks some love by including some beefed up account security in the stock Gmail app.
Google says that it’s latest Gmail update will be rolling out in the coming days, so keep an eye on the Play Store.
