Motorola said last week that it was starting to push Android 5.1 to the Moto E with 4G LTE (2nd Gen.), and now that update appears to be hitting consumers.
Several owners of the Moto E (2nd Gen.) with the model number XT1527 are reporting that they’re receiving an update to Android 5.1. The update weighs in at 258.8MB and includes usability improvements, the ability to swipe up on a Heads-up Notification to dismiss it but keep it in your notification tray, the ability to change Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections from Quick Settings, and much more. Motorola’s been pretty quick with Android updates in the past, and that’s continued with its second generation hardware. What makes today’s update exciting is that the Moto E (2nd Gen.) is a relatively entry-level phone, but Motorola is still showing it love by bumping it to Android 5.1 in a timely manner.
