Cricket Wireless customers are soon going to get access to one of the newest Windows Phone devices around.
The Microsoft Lumia 640 will launch at Cricket on May 15 for $129.99 without a commitment. The Lumia 640 features a 5-inch 1280x720 ClearBlack LCD screen, 8-megapixel rear and 0.9-megapixel wide-angle front cameras, 1.2GHZ quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, a microSD slot, 4G LTE, and a 2500mAh battery. The Lumia 640 runs Windows Phone 8.1 out of the box.
The Lumia 640 may not be the flagship Windows Phone device that fans of the platform are longing for, but it looks like a solid low-cost smartphone, and it’s good to see that the 640 is coming to the U.S. It’s also worth noting that the Lumia 640 will eventually be updated to Windows 10 Mobile, so buyers can rest easy knowing that they’ll receive Microsoft’s next major mobile update.
