The Samsung Galaxy S4 may not be the newest Android phone around, but it was a big seller for Samsung and is still offered by some retailers. If you’re still rocking an S4 on Sprint, then I’ve got some good news for you.
Sprint has announced that it’s pushing Android 5.0 to its version of the Galaxy S4. Both the non-Spark and Spark versions appear to be getting the update, with the Spark version receiving Factory Reset Protection in addition to its Lollipop treat.
The Galaxy S4 is pretty old for a smartphone, having been introduced more than two years ago. It’s not often that you seen devices of that age still getting major software updates, but the GS4 is getting a big bump to Android 5.0 that’ll give anyone still using the phone a refreshed user interface and access to any Android 5.0-only apps that might be out there. While a lot of folks that previously owned a GS4 likely have moved on to a new phone by now, anyone that’s still sticking with their GS4 will surely appreciate this update.
If you’ve got a Sprint Galaxy S4, you can check for this update by going into Settings > More > System Update > Update Samsung Software > Check now.
