LG today launched a new Android Wear app into the Google Play store.
Dubbed LG Call, the app will let users view recent calls, favorites, and a dial pad on an Android Wear smartwatch that’s paired with a smartphone. The app will even let you make a phone call without having to pull your phone out. You’ve also got the option to transfer a call from your watch to your phone. The catch? LG Call only works with the LG Watch Urbane right now, so LG G Watch R and LG G Watch users can’t currently try it.
While having a full dial pad on a smartwatch looks a little strange, LG Watch Urbane owners may appreciate the ability to quickly start a phone call without having to pull their phone out of their pocket, bag, or wherever else it may be. Judging by the early reviews of LG Call, it looks like G Watch R and G Watch owners are frustrated that they can’t use the app too, so hopefully LG expands the app’s compatibility soon.
