HTC upgraded its One M7 and One M8 variants to Android 5.0, early in 2015, and now many owners of other HTC smartphones are likely wondering where their Lollipop updates are. Unfortunately, it looks like at least one recent member of the One family won’t be getting a taste of Lollipop.
HTC has revealed on Twitter that the One mini 2 won’t be getting updated to Android 5.0. In response to a user question regarding the One mini 2’s update, HTC said that it “determined that Lollipop on the One mini 2 will not provide an optimal experience,” and so the phone isn’t currently scheduled to receive that update.
@EdoardoBerti We determined that Lollipop on the One mini 2 will not provide an optimal experience; it isn't scheduled to receive the update

This isn’t the first time that we’ve seen a phone denied an OS update due to sub-optimal performance. Still, it’s kind of disappointing that the HTC One mini 2 won’t be getting Lollipop, especially since the phone is only one year old. Apparently HTC couldn’t get Sense + Lollipop to play nicely with the One mini 2’s Snapdragon 400 processor and 1GB of RAM.
Do any of you own an HTC One mini 2?
