How about a little weirdness to help round out your week?
Today Google+ sent out its first tweet, greeting all of its followers and asking for a bit of love. The fact that one social network is using another might seem a little weird, but it’s certainly not unheard of. You want to get your name out there as much as possible, right? What’s strange about Google+’s first tweet is that it was sent nearly four years after it originally joined Twitter in July 2011.
Hello Twitterverse! Can we get some love for our #firstTweet?

So what prompted Google+ to finally start using Twitter? Google+ says that it wants to “spread the g+ love of course,” and the account has also shared some meme-ish responses to those that tweet at it. Whether or not Google+ has some bigger plans in store for it’s Twitter account remains to be seen, but for now you can follow it to get some Google+ in your Twitter, sort of like a social network peanut butter cup.
