Alcatel OneTouch announced earlier this month that its new Idol 3 smartphone would go up for pre-order on April 21, but apparently the company just couldn’t wait that long to begin offering its new Android handset to consumers.
The Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 is now available for early pre-order at a price of $199.99, which is a $80.99 less than its MSRP of $279. That price is only good through April 20, though, at which point the price will jump up to $249.99. You can pre-order the Idol 3 from Alcatel OneTouch’s online shop or Amazon, complete with free Prime shipping. Alcatel OneTouch says that orders will ship in “mid-May,” with Amazon offering a launch date of May 21.
The Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 offers a reversible design, which means that you can use it upside down and the phone’s software will adapt. The Idol 3’s hardware features include a 5.5-inch 1920x1080 display, octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor, 13-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX214 sensor and f/2.0 aperture, 8-megapixel front camera, and Android 5.0.2. That’s a respectable set of specs, especially considering that you can get an Idol 3 for $199.99 unlocked and contract-free.
What do you think of the Idol 3? Are any of you thinking about pre-ordering a unit?
