Android 5.1 is now making its way to another device.
The Moto G Google Play edition is now getting its Android 5.1 update, which is build LMY47M. The update comes in at 171MB in size. You can check for it manually by heading into Settings > About phone > System updates > Check for update. You can also grab the update file from the folks at Android Police and sideload it if you don’t feel like waiting for the update to come on its own.
Announced in early March, Android 5.1 offers improved stability and performance, the ability to change your Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection from the Quick Settings menu, and a few other goodies. Google hasn’t made any announcements regarding the Moto G GPe’s Android 5.1 update or the rollout of 5.1 for any other GPe phones, but now that the Moto G is getting it, other GPe updates shouldn’t be too far off.
