After HTC said yesterday that the AT&T One M7 should begin getting Android 5.0 on March 31, AT&T has posted the details of the update.
According to AT&T, the HTC One M7’s Lollipop update will go out in two parts due to its size and the memory availability on the phone itself. The first update is a 198MB memory optimization update, and it will begin going out today, March 31. The second update includes the actual bump to Android 5.0 and can weigh up to 860MB. AT&T says that the second part of the update will roll out to users starting April 6.
If you’ve got an AT&T-branded HTC One M7 and don’t feel like waiting until April 6 to get a taste of Lollipop, you don’t have to wait. AT&T says that both downloads are available immediately for users that initiate the update process themselves. However, after getting the first update, you’ll need to wait one hour before grabbing the second in order to give AT&T’s servers time to refresh. To get the update ball rolling, you need to head into Settings > AT&T software update > Check for updates.
Be sure to let us know when these updates begin appearing on your AT&T One M7s!
