After a bit of a false alarm late last year, it looks like Google may finally be done selling the Nexus 5.
Yesterday Google launched the Google Store, its new online storefront for buying its products. The Nexus 5 is in the shop, but it’s listed as being “no longer available for purchase.” A Google spokesperson gave a statement to The Verge on the matter, saying that “while some inventory of Nexus 5 still exists (with our retail and carrier partners), our focus is on the Nexus 6 at this time.”
Despite the fact that it’s no longer the newest Nexus smartphone, the Nexus 5 has remained attractive for some because the Nexus 6 has a 5.96-inch screen, which is considerably larger than the Nexus 5’s 5-inch display. The N5’s relatively affordable price doesn’t hurt, either. Google previously said that it’d continue to sell the N5 in Q1 2015, which is coming to an end in a couple of weeks, so it looks like the company is stick to its plan.
If you aren’t yet ready to say goodbye to the Nexus 5, you can still buy a unit from T-Mobile for $324, and there are some Amazon sellers still offering the N5 as well.
