Hours after Google made Android 5.1 official, it’s started posting the factory images for its latest update.
Android 5.1 factory images are now live for the Nexus 5, Nexus 7 (Wi-Fi) [2012], and Nexus 10. All of the images are build LMY47D.
These factory images can be flashed to a compatible device and bring you up to Android 5.1 immediately, but they’ll also completely wipe your hardware, so be aware of that before you manually load these images onto your phone. If you’d prefer not to have your info wiped, you can wait for the OTA updates to hit your Nexus. Now that the factory images are live, the updates should begin rolling out soon.
For a refresher on what’s included with the update to Android 5.1, hit up my post from earlier today.
