The lack of a Snapdragon processor may not be the only thing that differentiates the Samsung Galaxy S6 from its predecessors.

A new rumor suggests that with the Galaxy S6, Samsung is yanking most apps that’ve been built into TouchWiz in the past, opting instead to make them optional downloads. Exactly which apps will be removed and which will stay isn’t known, but SamMobile suggests that features like Smart Stay and S Health will likely stay in, while apps like Story Album and S Translator may be offered as downloadable apps for those that want them.

Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface has caught flak in the past for being a bit heavy and bloated, and so Samsung may be planning to remove many of its custom apps in order to speed TouchWiz up. The move could also make TouchWiz easier to use because it’ll no longer bombard users with a bunch of apps and features that they may not use or understand.
