Remember Digits, the Twitter feature that allows you to log in to websites using your phone number? Well now a version for the web is officially official.
Twitter today announced Digits support for websites. Just like with Android and iOS, developers can let you log in to their website using your phone number. You’ll still need to set up an account using an Android or iOS app, but after that you can log in using your phone number. When you log in to a site using Digits, you’ll receive an SMS confirmation code that you enter once, then you’re good to go.
One notable perk of Digits is that once you authenticate your account over SMS for logging into a website, you won’t have to do that for any other sites. That means that you log in once and will be able to access all other Digits-enabled sites without logging in again.
