Remember that Material Design-ified update to Google Calendar that was shown off last year? You know, the one that Google said would be released to both Android and iOS? Well we haven’t heard anything about the iOS release since Google’s announcement in November, but today the rumor mill is giving us a sneak peek of the app.
The Next Web has posted several screenshots of what is said to be the iOS version of the Google Calendar app. Unsurprisingly, the app features Material Design just like Google’s other recent app updates. Also included is Events from Gmail, a feature that’ll pull details for things like flights, concerts, and reservations from your Gmail account and automatically add them into your Google Calendar.
Two other features that come with the new version of Google Calendar are Assists, which will suggest people, places, and titles for new events that you enter into Calendar, as well as Schedule View, which will incorporate photos and maps on your calendar to help jazz it up a bit.
The new Google Calendar app for Gmail looks a lot like the Android version that began rolling out last year. That’s a good thing because it means that iOS users can get a taste of Material Design, as well as all of the new features of Google Calendar, without having to go through the effort of switching platforms.
