We may not know when or if LG will release that smartphone with two curved edge displays that LG Display showed off at CES, but apparently Samsung will soon release a similar phone of its own.
Samsung is prepping a special version of the Galaxy S6 that has not one, but two curved displays, reports SamMobile. There will allegedly be one curved display on each side of the unit, and the device is expected to use the same panels that it used on the Galaxy Note Edge, including Yahoo! Finance, a pedometer, news, and more.
Since there will be a curved display on both sides of the Galaxy S6, it’s said that Samsung will let you select which side you want the main edge to be depending on whether you’re left or right-handed. Also said to be included is a feature called Glance Lighting that’ll light up your curved edge with incoming calls or messages if your GS6 Edge is turned over.
Exactly when we’ll see this “Galaxy S6 Edge” launch is still a mystery, as is how wide of a release this unique phone will get. With its two curved edge displays, it’ll definitely be interesting what it’s like to use the GS6 Edge and not accidentally tap the curved displays on the sides.
Would you use a smartphone with two curved screens?
