It looks like the new year isn’t the only milestone that Spotify is celebrating as we enter 2015.
Spotify announced today that its streaming music service has 15 million paid subscribers and a total of 60 million active users. Spotify offers a free ad-supported service that lets users listen to music in shuffle mode on mobile or any song on tablets and computers. There are also single and family premium subscriptions that cost $9.99 and $14.99 per month, respectively, and let you listen offline, listen to any song on any device, enjoy an ad-free experience, and have higher sound quality.
Spotify is one of the most well-known streaming music services around, and it’s got some respectable subscriber numbers. Having 15 million paid users out of a base of 60 million active users may not sound like much, but a lot of people are still hesitant about paying $10 per month for a premium subscription to a streaming service, so Spotify’s numbers are actually good.
