Alongside its new PIXI 3 series of smartphones, Alcatel Onetouch today revealed its first foray into the budding world of wearables.
The Alcatel Onetouch WATCH is a round-faced smartwatch that will feature a “very accessible price.” Exactly what the price will be remains to be seen, but Alcatel says that the WATCH will monitor your daily activity and connect to Android smartphones to control music, take photos, receive notifications, and more.
As far as actual specs go, well, Alcatel Onetouch hasn’t shared much about its first wearable. The press image shows that it’s got a round face, and it looks like the device has an outer ring and an inner circle, the latter of which appears to have a “flat tire” section that could be used as an ambient light sensor, similar to the Moto 360.
The wearables market has exploded lately, with everyone from Apple to Samsung to LG to ASUS announcing their own smartwatch hardware. That’s why it’s no surprise to see Alcatel Onetouch getting in on the action too. And while there’s still a lot that we don’t know about the WATCH, it’s got an attractive design that could pique the interest of many consumers.
