Along with its new P90 and Vibe X2 Pro Limited Edition smartphones, Lenovo today took the wraps off of a couple of new mobile accessories.
The Lenovo Vibe Band VB10 is a new wearable that has an e-ink display to alert you to incoming calls, text messages, and social media updates from services like Facebook, Twitter, and WeChat. The display is 230ppi and can display up to 150 characters. In addition to showing you your incoming messages, the Vibe Band VB10 can monitor your fitness levels and help you find your lost smartphone by remotely activating the ringtone on your device.
Lenovo’s Vibe Band VB10 will launch in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East in April or just $89. Lenovo says that the battery inside of the Vibe Band VB10 will let it run for up to seven days on a single charge.
Another accessory announced today by Lenovo is the Vibe Xtension Selfie Flash. The add-on plugs into your device’s 3.5mm headphone jack and has eight diffused LEDs to help you get better light for your selfies. Lenovo expects the Vibe Xtension Selfie Flash to last for up to 100 uses on a single charge. It’ll launch in April for $29.
The wearables space is blowing up lately, and while it’s interesting to see that Lenovo isn’t releasing an Android Wear-powered device, the Vibe Band VB10 could be a nice option for folks that want an affordable fitness tracker that can also keep them up to date on their smartphone alerts. And just like wearables, selfies are super-popular nowadays, and folks that are really into taking photos of themselves likely wouldn’t have a problem with dropping $29 on a small accessory like the Vibe Xtension Selfie Flash.
