Earlier today I told you that Amazon is heavily discounting its new Fire HDX 8.9 tablet, but if you’re not in the market for some new hardware, Amazon has announced that it’s also going to discount some software this week.
From December 24 through December 26, the Amazon Appstore will launch its largest Free App of the Day bundle in history. Amazon says that it’ll offer apps that range in price from $0.99 to $64.99, with a total savings of up to $220.
Amazon also plans to offer other kinds of discounted content. Starting December 25, the retailer will discount Kindle books from “best-selling authors” up to 85 percent. That sale will last through the New Year. Amazon’s also got some discounts for movie and TV streaming as well as music.
We’ll have to wait and see exactly what Amazon offers as part of its big sales, but they definitely sound like something worth keeping an eye out for. Amazon says that it’ll offer apps from the likes of Halfbrick Studios, Rovio Entertainment, and Sega of America, who have released games like Fruit Ninja, Angry Birds, and Sonic.
