We’ve seen quite a few Android device makers release their special apps into Google Play for easier updating lately, including HTC and Motorola. Of course, Google is one of the original companies to do this, and today the big G added another app to the Play store’s virtual shelves.
Android TV Launcher is now live in Google Play, and just as you’d expect, the app serves as the starting point for accessing content and launching apps on an Android TV device. The new version that’s now live on the Play store includes some unspecified bug fixes.
Since this is Android TV Launcher we’re talking about, you’ll only be able to install it on Android TV devices. That includes the Nexus Player and the ADT-1 developer preview kit, if you’re lucky enough to have one of those units laying around. As the list of Android TV devices grows, though, this app will become much more valuable because it’ll let Google add fixes and new features to the Android TV platform as quickly as it’d like.
