One of the biggest perks of Amazon Prime is discounted fast shipping: two-day shipping is free and one-day shipping will set you back just $3.99 per item. If you need something even faster, well, now Amazon’s got a third option for you.

Amazon Prime Now is officially official, allowing Amazon Prime customers to have select products delivered to them in just one hour. Amazon says that “tens of thousands of daily essentials” qualify for Amazon Prime Now, including some food, clothes, and electronics items.

Amazon Prime Now is currently available in parts of Manhattan, with additional cities expected to gain the feature in 2015. Prime Now is available from 6:00 a.m. to midnight seven days a week, and to get an item delivered to you in an hour, you’ll need to pony up $7.99. If you can stand to wait just a bit longer, you can get your item in two hours for free.

In order to use Amazon Prime Now, you’ll need to be an Amazon Prime member, which will set you back $99.99 per year. You’ll also need the Amazon Prime Now app that’s available on Android, iOS and Amazon’s Appstore.

Some may think that it’s kind of silly that someone needs an item delivered to them in one hour and that they’d pay extra to get it. The idea of being able to order something on Amazon and have it show up in your hands just one hour later is pretty awesome, though, and even the free two-hour option is cool if you can’t stand to spend $8 extra for faster delivery. Here’s to hoping that Amazon’s able to spread Prime Now to several more cities in 2015 so that more folks have a chance to try the service out.
