Good news, Nexus fans! Android 5.0.1 factory images are now available for more of Google’s devices!
Google has posted the Android 5.0.1 factory images for both the Nexus 6 and Nexus 4. The images bring the phones up to build LRX22C, just like the 5.0.1 images for Nexus tablets that we saw earlier this month.
The arrival of these Nexus 6 and Nexus 4 factory images suggests that the official updates could begin rolling out over the air soon. Of course, if you’d rather not wait for the OTA push, you can flash these factory images to your N6 or N4 right now. To do so, you’ll need to be comfortable with things like terminals, adb tools and having all of the content on your phone erased, which is what flashing a factory image will do.
If you decide to take the plunge and flash Android 5.0.1 to your Nexus 6 or Nexus 4, let me know how it goes!
